The Structure Group stood out from the rest at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013.
TSG’s HeavyDeck solution boasts weight loading capacities of up to 20kN/m2, easily allowing the use of the flow-rider surf machine on the Peugeot stand. A variety of different approaches were then taken to develop the final stand, firstly a 600mm counter-sunk deck was supplied with an elevated decking solution above to surround the wave machine as the main attraction.
Off to one side TSG provided a mezzanine build to create a VIP viewing area that looked over the surf machine. To the other side was an open plan display area for vehicles and to the rear, an in-closed changing room and drying facility for wetsuits. We then had an internal staircase designed and built up to the viewing area, with glass and stainless steel handrail in-place to suit Peugeots finish.
The build also included stainless steel handrail surrounding the lower decking area and three lots of steps built to access the stand. Finishing of was crucial and completed to non-other that the highest of standards expected by Peugeot.
In terms of the delivery of the event, over the course of the 4 days it was phenomenally successful. Peugeot were the busiest they had ever been, sold the most cars they ever have at a Goodwood event and were inundated with people coming to view and use the Flow-rider Surf Machine.
